We want children and young people to experience security and belonging, regardless of their background or financial circumstances, and to be able to discover and develop their potential. They should be able to experience their living environment positively – and actively help shape it – whether in the way they learn, play, build friendships, spend their free time, nourish themselves, or grow up healthy.
This is our conviction: investing in children means investing in the future of our society. That is why the DEICHMANN Foundation is particularly committed to fostering a sense of community and ensuring fair access to education and healthcare for children and young people.

With more than 50 years of experience, we have gained a deep understanding of which approaches are particularly effective. In this way, we are pleased to contribute to ensuring that all children in Germany have equal opportunities.
Creating opportunities in Madagascar
For tourists, Madagascar—the world’s fourth-largest island, located off the east coast of Africa—is a unique natural paradise and an attractive travel destination. For much of the population of this island nation in the Indian Ocean, however, daily life is marked by severe hardship, with many people lacking access to basic opportunities and long-term prospects.
Through comprehensive projects – particularly in the areas of water supply, healthcare, and education – we are committed to helping improve living conditions and future prospects for many people in Madagascar.

In Deutschland liegt unser Fokus auf der Unterstützung von Projekten im Ruhrgebiet. International engagieren wir uns derzeit insbesondere in einem der ärmsten Länder der Welt: Madagaskar.

Themen, die uns am Herzen liegen
Stiftungszwecke der DEICHMANN-Stiftung
Wir setzen Schwerpunkte der Stiftungsförderung bei Bildung, sozialer Teilhabe und Gesundheitsversorgung. Für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit sowie humanitäre Hilfe engagieren wir uns überwiegend im internationalen Kontext. In Deutschland begleiten wir darüber hinaus ausgewählte Projekte aus den Bereichen Kunst, Kultur, Wissenschaft und Forschung.
Grundsätzlich arbeiten wir eng mit hochqualifizierten Partnern zusammen. Dabei fördert uns auch das Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ). Mit unserer Arbeit wirken wir kontinuierlich daran mit, die Nachhaltigkeitsziele der weltweit abgestimmten Agenda 2030 zu erreichen.
